There have been stories circulating online that Idris Elba is being given serious consideration as the next James Bond.

Gotcha! You thought I was going to list some dumbass reason why I would object to James Bond being portrayed by a black actor, didn’t you?
Well, I’m not going to do that.
Because I’m not racist 😊
Besides, I think Elba would be a terrific Bond. He’s cool, he’s handsome, and he never comes across as a wimp. Certainly not in any of the movies or shows I’ve seen him in.
Imagine Stringer Bell from The Wire as James Bond, but with an English accent. That’s my idea of Elba as 007.
Oh, you’re going to crash the world economy and blow up Buckingham Palace, mister super villain? Stringer Bell’s backhand has a different plan.
I think, initially, Elba would rank ahead of Timothy Dalton but behind Daniel Craig in the Bond pecking order.
As far as my opinion of the Bond actors throughout the years:
Connery>Craig>Dalton>Brosnan>Lazenby>Moore
I’d rather watch the final scene of In the Realm of the Senses (spoiler alert: a dude gets his penis cut off 😫) on repeat for 24 hours straight than sit through any of Roger Moore’s outings as 007 again.
Michael Moore would be a better James Bond than Roger Moore.
But anyway, I say yes to Elba as Bond.
