I didn’t go to work yesterday.
Oh, I wanted to, for sure.
However, I wasn’t really in the mood to take a rear-wheel drive truck out onto snow-and-ice-covered roads with the hope that I wouldn’t skid off the road or that someone wouldn’t slam into me.
I love North Carolina, but I know better than to assume folks down here know how to drive in bad weather, especially snow and ice.
So I took a Snow day.
Did I have to hear from my boss about how I was the only one in the office who didn’t try to work?
Yep.
I don’t have the time to have another car slam into my truck and then go take another drug test as a result of a not-at-fault accident (not to mention that I don’t have the money if I was to get hurt).
So two words come to mind: “tough” and “shit.”
Sooooooooo….Snow day 🤷♂️
I took Miles to the tennis court to run around and play fetch, and he had a ball (no pun intended):
I’m not one to brag, but that’s a pretty sweet action photo, right?
And how about that slide? If I tried that then I wouldn’t be able to even go back to work when this snow melts.
My wife and I also finished decorating the Christmas tree and watched Bridesmaids (because there’s no such thing as an R-rated chick flick, and I don’t care what anyone says 😉), so all in all, it was a good day.
Yes, we put a gate around the tree, because there’s no way it would survive a round with an almost-70-pound Jack Russell mix.
Hopefully tomorrow all this snow and ice will melt enough to where I feel comfortable taking a rear-wheel drive truck out on the roads.
Because the whole getting hurt/possibly dying thing?
Not really feeling that 😊
Great post. In Finland we drive in the snow and ice. We also bike in cold winter:
Winter biking1
Winter biking 2
It is a great fun.
Have a wonderful day!
