Boo-Thang B-Day Crunch Time

Tomorrow is Boo-Thang’s birthday.

(For any new readers, or any readers that forgot, or any readers at all, “Boo-Thang” is code for “wife” 😉)

She’s hitting that Presidential number, too.

The big 3-5.

She certainly doesn’t look it (no, I’m not saying that to earn brownie points or to get out of a future honey-do list). I met her when she was 31 and I thought she was in her damn early 20’s.

But anyway, there’s one small, um, issue I have regarding Boo-Thang’s B-Day:

I haven’t gotten her a present yet 🤯.

I mean, we ARE going to the NC State-Wake Forest basketball game tomorrow, but the tickets for that were a Christmas present from my Mom, so there’s no way in Hell that I’m going to use that as a fallback option.

I’m no expert, but re-gifting your wife’s birthday present? Probably not the best idea.

And no, I’m not going to pull a Roy from The Office and say that I got her “the best sex of her life.”

As Luke Skywalker once said, “Don’t do that.”

I also don’t have Channing Tatum’s phone number (look Chan-Chan, if you read this, hit me up).

In the past I’ve usually done well with getting her Star Wars-themed gifts (not just for birthdays, either).

The first year we were dating, I bought her the original Trilogy DVD box set.

The following Christmas I bought her the Star Wars Monopoly game AND a Rey action figure (the game didn’t feature any of the female characters as game pieces, and I KNEW her first question was going to be “Where the fuck is Rey?” so I planned ahead).

Of course, I snuck an engagement ring into the Rey package, too 😉.

Sooooooo this year I thought about ordering her the Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith DVD off of Amazon, because it’s the only Star Wars movie she doesn’t have.

But it costs over 30 bucks (?!), which is about 26 bucks more than I would be willing to spend on it.

And 30 bucks more than SHE would be willing to spend on it.

I would go out to look for something today, but I am always scheduled to work on the 4th Saturday of each month.

So it’s gonna come down to crunch time this year.
