Hurricanes Fan Humiliates Bruins in NHL ‘19

A Carolina fan avenged the Hurricanes’ 4-game sweep in the Eastern Conference Finals Monday when he defeated the Boston Bruins 12-1 in NHL ’19 on his Xbox One.

Alex McDonald, a lifelong Canes fan, said he was as disappointed as anyone else when the Bruins swept Carolina last week.

“It was a tough way to end the season,” McDonald said. “So I felt like I had an obligation to stick it to them in NHL ’19.”

“And woo boy, did I ever.”

Sebastian Aho led the team with 5 goals, while Jordan Staal added 3 goals. Captain Justin Williams led the team with 12 penalty minutes, knocking out Brad Marchand early in the game.

McDonald said he never had so much success against as talented a team as the Bruins.

“It was the perfect storm, to be honest,” McDonald said. “We knocked Marchand out in the first period, Bergeron didn’t score a single goal, and we scored twelve goals.”

“It was like in the movie D2, when Team USA lost to Iceland, 12-1.”

When asked what difficulty he played the game on, McDonald refused to clarify.

“Does it matter?” McDonald asked. “I don’t think it does.”

Hurricanes Head Coach Rod Brind’Amour said he wanted to offer a consulting job to McDonald.

“Anyone who can score that many goals in one game,” Brind’Amour said, “we could benefit from that kind of experience.”

“Our power play this season had some kinks that need to be worked out. I’m confident that Mr. McDonald can help us improve by leaps and bounds in that area of the game.”
