Arkansas Fan Starts Petition to Change NCAA Baseball Tournament Rules

Following Arkansas’s stunning defeat to the NC State Wolfpack in Game 3 of the Super Regionals of the 2021 NCAA Baseball tournament Sunday, one Razorbacks fan decided to start a petition to change the rules.

Jeff Blythe, a Fayetteville resident and lifelong Razorbacks fan, explained Monday that the winning team should be determined by total runs scored, rather than by who actually won each game.

“My God, we won the first game 21-2,” Blythe told reporters. “I saw the score in the paper and thought it was a football scrimmage or something.”

“Arkansas is the best team in the country, and they ended up scoring 17 more runs than NC State did in a three-game series. That should carry more weight. Instead the Wolfpack, a team that chokes like David Carradine, is going to Omaha and we’re not.”

One NC State fan, Brett Persimmon, fired back in response to Blythe’s petition.

“Oh, woo pig boo hooie,” Persimmon told reporters. “That’s why it’s a best-of-three series. They shouldn’t have blown their load in Game 1.”

“No one watches porn and expects the climax in the opening scene. That’s just bad form.”

NC State advances to the College World Series in Omaha, NE, for the third time in program history.
