Victory over Clemson not Enough for Some Wolfpack Fans

Despite NC State’s 27-21 double-overtime win over 9th-ranked Clemson Saturday, some Wolfpack fans aren’t pleased with Head Coach Dave Doeren.

According to them, beating a top-10 team in September simply isn’t enough.

“Doeren never beats teams that finish the season ranked,” Jen Billings, a first-half Wolfpack fan, told reporters following the game. “It’s one thing to beat Clemson in 2016 or 2018, you know, when they won national championships, but now? This is the worst team they’ve had in a decade.”

“It doesn’t mean doodly-squat.”

Bob Negron, another Wolfpack fan, said that Doeren needed to be shown the door immediately.

“This is the worst Clemson team we’ve seen in years,” Negron explained. “Doeren sure picked a good time to finally beat them.”

“It shouldn’t have taken two overtimes to win, that’s for sure.”

Geoff George, another Wolfpack fan, said he was disappointed that NC State didn’t win by more.

“Wah wah wah wah,” George told reporters. “Wah wah wah wah wah.”

“Oh, wah wah wah wah.”

NC State (3-1), takes on Louisiana Tech next on October 2.
