Mayhem made a surprise appearance for the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Boston Bruins as the Hurricanes were defeated 6-2 on Sunday to fall behind two games in the series.

During the TV stoppage almost twelve minutes into the first period, Mayhem jumped Hurricanes Goalie Petr Mrazek while he was in the bathroom, stole his gear and skated onto the ice.

Hurricanes Captain Justin Williams was the first one to notice that Mrazek didn’t look like himself.

“He was doing this little dance in the goal,” Williams said. “I yelled out ‘hey buddy, what the f*** are you doing?'”

“He yelled back ‘I’m a talented goalie who came back too quick from injury,'” Williams said.

“Then he said, ‘scoreless tie? Not if I can help it!'”

Mayhem allowed two goals in the last five minutes of the period.

When the rest of the team figured out he wasn’t actually Mrazek, Mayhem threw the jersey on the ice, climbed over the glass and escaped into the stands.

Hurricanes Head Coach Rod Brind’Amour told reporters that Mayhem’s behavior had a negative effect on the team.

“By the time we got Petr back in there we were already in a hole,” Brind’Amour said. “It just went downhill from there.”

After the game Mrazek said he knew Mayhem showed up because he had just dropped his Allstate insurance.

“It was too expensive,” Mrazek said, “but if I’d known that jerkoff was going to do me like that then I wouldn’t have switched to GEICO.”

When asked about his actions, Mayhem simply shrugged.

“You gotta get Allstate, and be better protected from mayhem,” he said, “like me.”

Game 3 is scheduled for Tuesday at PNC Arena in Raleigh at 8 pm. Brind’Amour told the team to keep an eye out for Mayhem.

“If you have Allstate,” Brind’Amour said after the game, “you better keep that s***.”
