Keatts Leaves DC With Duffel Bag of Receipts

Following NC State’s first ACC men’s basketball title since 1987, Wolfpack head coach Kevin Keatts was spotted leaving Washington D.C. with an oversized duffel bag.

The contents of the bag? Receipts.

“Lots and lots of receipts,” Keatts told reporters on Sunday as the team was leaving the city.

“These fools on social media thought I would forget what they were saying about us before the tournament started,” Keatts said. “I forget nothing.”

“I may have blocked a bunch of people on X, but I never forget.”

The 10th-seeded Wolfpack defeated the top-seeded North Carolina Tar Heels 84-76 in the ACC Championship game Saturday, capping off a stunning run of five straight wins in five days to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Grad transfer DJ Burns, who was named the tournament MVP, said he was stunned by the size of the bag.

“That bag is bigger than me,” Burns said. “It’s about three CVS’s worth of receipts.”

Keatts explained that he was willing to forgive any fans who wrote the team off after they lost four straight games to end the regular season at 17-14.

“I get it,” Keatts said. “When I said that I was a winner back in 2017 I didn’t anticipate that it would take seven years to win an ACC title.”

“But we finally pulled it off, and the trolls on X better watch out because these receipts are getting published faster than a copy of The Slammer.”
